Why dive a rebreather?

The BENEFITS of CCR Diving

The BENEFITS of CCR Diving

Why dive a rebreather? Because, let’s face it—they’re undeniably cool! It’s the closest experience most of us will ever have to being an astronaut.

Rebreathers open up a world of new possibilities for divers, offering the opportunity to glide silently through the water, blending seamlessly with marine life. Whether you’re exploring vibrant reefs, intriguing wrecks, or fascinating underwater rock formations, a rebreather enhances every dive.

With a rebreather, you can:

  • Extend Your Dive Time: Enjoy significantly longer dive durations compared to open-circuit systems.

  • Explore Quietly: Minimize noise and bubbles, allowing you to get closer to marine life without disturbing their natural behavior.

  • Dive Deeper: Safely reach greater depths with reduced decompression obligations.

  • Breathe Efficiently: Optimize gas usage, making every dive more efficient and cost-effective.

Ready to take your diving to the next level? A rebreather is your gateway to a whole new underwater adventure.

The BENEFITS of CCR Diving

With a rebreather, you can:

  • Stay Underwater Longer: Enjoy extended dive times that let you fully immerse yourself in the underwater world.

  • Dive Deeper, More Economically: Use less gas and reduce costs while exploring greater depths.

  • Stay Warmer: Breathe warmer gas, helping you stay more comfortable during longer dives.
  • Stay Hydrated: Benefit from breathing less dry gas, reducing dehydration.

  • Get Closer to Wildlife: The quieter operation and lack of bubbles allow you to approach marine life more closely and observe them in their natural behavior.

About Our Classes

The BENEFITS of CCR Diving

About Our Classes

Our classes cater to everyone, from beginners curious about trying rebreather diving for the first time to advanced divers seeking full trimix certification.

Each course begins with a classroom session, where you’ll learn the fundamentals of rebreather diving. This is followed by a confined water session in a local pool, allowing you to get comfortable with the equipment while practicing buoyancy control and breathing techniques.

The real adventure begins with a series of open water dives from a local dive boat. You’ll explore the stunning wrecks along Florida’s coastline or the vibrant reef systems just offshore, putting your new skills into practice in some of the world’s best diving environments.

CCR Training Overview

Take full advantage of the cutting-edge benefits a closed-circuit rebreather, or CCR, which can deliver:

  •   Greater gas efficiency

  •   Extended bottom times

  •   More efficient decompression.

Rebreathers provide a unique dimension in diving and taking a course from Innovative Rebreather Divers is your key to unlocking this exciting technology.

All courses, from entry level to trimix, equip a diver with the skills and knowledge necessary to be a safe, responsible and self-sufficient closed-circuit diver. Class size is limited to no more than 4 students.

CCR (rEv0 Rebreather) Courses

40 Meter (introductory)

40 Meter (introductory)

40 Meter (introductory)

This is the second level certification course for divers wishing to utilize a closed-circuit rebreather (CCR) for air diving. The objective of the course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for diving a CCR, and to develop basic CCR diving skills to a

maximum depth of 40 Metres/130 Feet using air or nitrox as diluent for formal

decompression diving.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 18.
  • Provide proof of 50 logged dives. If completing a unit crossover, at least 10 logged CCR dives in the last 12 months.
  • Provide proof of TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and Deco Procedures Diver or equivalent from agencies recognized by TDI.
  • Provide proof of at least 5 logged staged decompression dives to a minimum depth of 30 metres/100 feet.
  • If the rebreather is a TDI approved Sidemount rebreather, the student must hold the TDI Sidemount Diver certification or equivalent, provide proof of 10 logged Sidemount dives, and any additional requirements the Sidemount rebreather manufacturer may have.

OR

  •  Minimum age 18.
  • TDI Air Diluent CCR Diver certified or equivalent.
  •  Minimum of 30 hours and 30 dives on the CCR unit.
  • Six months CCR diving experience.

60 Meter

40 Meter (introductory)

40 Meter (introductory)

This is the intermediate level certification course for divers wishing to utilize a closed-circuit rebreather (CCR) for mixed gas diving. The objective of the course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for mixed gas diving on the unit specific CCR, utilizing a mixed gas diluent containing 16 percent or greater oxygen, and to develop intermediate CCR diving skills appropriate to technical diving to a maximum depth of 60 Metres/200 Feet.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 18.
  • Provide a verified log of a minimum of 50 rebreather hours distributed over a minimum of 50 dives, with at least 25 dives and 25 hours on the specific rebreather unit and at least 10 rebreather dives to 30 metres/100 feet or deeper requiring staged decompression. If completing a unit crossover, provide proof of at least 10 logged CCR dives in the last 12 months.
  • Certified as a TDI Air Diluent Decompression Procedures Rebreather/ TDI CCR Helitrox Diluent Decompression Procedures Diver course or equivalent from agencies recognized by TDI

100 Meter

40 Meter (introductory)

rEvo Crossover

This is the highest-level certification course for divers wishing to utilize the unit specific closed-circuit rebreather (CCR) for advanced mixed gas diving. The objective of the course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for advanced mixed gas diving on a CCR and to develop advanced CCR diving skills appropriate to technical diving to a maximum depth of 100 Metres/330 Feet (or shallower if mandated by local law).

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Certified TDI CCR Mixed Gas Diluent diver, or equivalent from agencies recognized by TDI.
  • Provide proof of a minimum of 100 rebreather hours over a minimum of 100 dives; a minimum of 50 hours and 50 dives must be on the unit-specific CCR. A minimum of 30 dives must be deeper than 30 Metres/100 Feet, and a minimum of 10 logged mixed gas CCR dives, after mixed gas diver training, must be deeper than 50 metres/165 feet, requiring staged decompression.

rEvo Crossover

rEvo Refresher

rEvo Crossover

The rEvo  CCR Crossover course is to provide divers already certified on a unit with additional unit specific training to become certified on an additional unit. Crossover applies to rebreathers of different brands/manufacturers.

rEvo Refresher
